Palak Gosht Recipe

Spinach is called Palak in urdu. And we know it has so much nutrition and health benefits. Likewise Palak Gosht is one of the most eatable traditional recipe in Pakistan. Not only on causal days, people love to cook and eat it on every festival and ceremonies. Our festivals and ceremonies are incomplete without having this dish in our menu cards. Mostly in Mehndi ceremony and Bari Eid, we make sure to have this dish on our dinning tables for our special guests. Combination of this healthy vegetable with meat makes it not only delicious and mouth watering. Thus the dish is very popular among all groups of ages. Ingredients Palak Gosht

  • Palak/Spinach – 1 Kg
  • Mutton/Beef – Half Kg
  • Onion Medium Sliced Chopped – 2
  • Tomatoes Finely Chopped – 3
  • Garlic Ginger Paste – 1 Tablespoon
  • Coriander Leaves Chopped – 1 Tablespoon
  • Green Chili Chopped – 8 or 10
  •  Yogurt – 3 Tablespoon
  • Salt – To Taste
  • Red Chili Powder – 1 Tablespoon
  • Black Chili Powder – Half Teaspoon
  • Water – Two Cup
  • Oil – 4 Tablespoon

Easy And Quick Palak Gosht Recipe

1- Wash the spinach with fresh water and place into the stainer to drain the water. After that chopped the leaves well by cutting away heavy stems. Now wash the meat also with fresh water.

2- Now put oil into a pan and heat the oil on normal stove. After that add chopped onion into the pan and fry them until it turns golden brown. When the onions turned brown add salt in it and mix it well for 30 seconds. Then add garlic ginger paste in the pan and cook again just for 30 seconds. After that add the meat into the fried onion and cook it for 8 to 10 minutes or until it turn light brown.

3- Now add red chili powder and coriander powder, mix into meat well. Its time to add tomatoes, add the chopped tomatoes into the pan and cooked it until it tenderized. Put two cup of water in to pan with the chopped palak now and cook until the meat is tender and it’s liquid is dried.

4- When oil appear on the surface of pan add chopped green chills on it. And place the pan on lower heat (dam) for 5 to 8 minutes as required.
