World Book Day: From Words To Screen, Pakistani Dramas Which Are Based On Popular Novels

Book is the only best and loyal friend of a man. As quoted by Ernest Hemingway, “There is no friend as loyal as a book”. The books can be best source of entertainment and knowledge. As these are filled with knowledge. It helps one and motivates one to choice right direction in life. A book sometimes can be a teacher also. We are aware of the fact there most of Pakistani films and dramas are based on Urdu Novels. Both dramas and novels by Pakistani Authors got Internationally love and appreciation. The way these writers have contributed in Urdu Literature can’t be ignored. As we know today is World Book Day. So we decided to bring a list of Top and Most Successful Pakistani dramas based on Novels. Have a look below.

Meri Zaat Zara -E-Benishaan

How can this list begin without mentioning the most popular and ever time favorite drama Meri Zaat Zara-E-Benishaan. The story got huge love form the watchers because of it’s strong story-line and powerful dialogues. Where the drama became a massive and huge hit of 2009. Alif Allah Aur Insan

Aik Nayee Cinderella

And both the leading faces Osman and Maya Ali rose to fame via this drama. Aik Nayee Cinderella also featured Faizan Khawaja in leading role alongside Maya. The story of the drama was from the pen of famous script and novel writer Faiza Iftikhar. And based on the novel of the writer with same title.

Main Abdul Qadir Hoon

Main Abdul Qadir Hoon featuring Fahad Mustafa in lead role was indeed a popular one. The drama also made Fahad a household name and earned massive fan following for him. Main Abdul Qadir Hoon was a family drama and got love by the audience. The story of the drama revolves around a man, Abdul Qadir, with gold heart. And whose his life goes through many twists and turns because of people around him trying to influence him. The drama was based on the novel of Serwat Nazir.

Zindagi Gulzar Hai

Popular romantic drama Zindagi Gulzar Hai starring handsome man Fawad Khan and beautiful Sanam Saeed in titular roles was one of the top drama of its time. The drama successfully made place in hearts of audience and hit the masses with it’s strong story-line. Zard Zamano Ka Sawera, aired on ARY Digital, the drama featured Shehroz Sabzwari, Komal Aziz, Hira Tareen and Asad Siddiqui in title roles. Directed by Shahood Alvi, the drama highlighted the social issue regarding the treatment towards the orphans, adopted or step kids. The drama was from the pen of Nabila Abrar Raja. Which based on the on her novel with the same title.

Dastan

Staring Sanam Baloch, Fawad Khan, Saba Qamar and Ahsan Khan, Dastan is one of the blockbuster dramas and most loved dramas of all time. It is based on the novel of Razia Butt’s Bano. The highest rated TV Drama of ever time, the said drama had dramatized by Samira Afzal.

Mah-e-Tamaam

Romantic drama, which starrer Emmad Irfani, Naveen Waqar, Wahaj Ali and Ramsha Khan in leading roles. Directed by Syed Ahmed Kamran, the drama is also based on the novel of Amna Riaz with same title.
