After proving her mettle as versatile actress on TV, she continues to spread her charm on silver screens. Currently, Kubra is winning hearts with her portrayal of Husn-e-Jahan in drama serial ‘Alif’. The said drama has instantly clicked with the masses. And her character of Husn-e-Jahan being well appreciated.
From the writer of ‘Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan’ Umera Ahmed, Alif features Hamza Ali Abbasi, Sajal Ali, Ahsan Khan and Kubra Khan in leading roles. Directed by Haseeb Hassan and produced by Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawaz, All the central characters played by Hamza, Sajal and Kubra have several layers of emotions underneath them. And the drama is all about a soulful journey of love and guidance to the straight path. The drama narrates the journey of a woman Husn e Jahan belong to showbiz industry and how’s her life took a turn when she left industry to spread her life by according to the teaching of Islam.
Kubra Khan Opened Up About Her Character of Husn-e-Jahan:
Now the latest is, the actress recently appeared in an interview with BBC Asian Network. During the interview she opened up about her character of Husn-e-Jahan. She said, “When Alif came and I read the script, I fell in love with Husn e Jahan. I could relate to her in so many ways. Alif came to me at a point where I was… not in the best place. I was at a dark place in my life at that point.”
Adding further Kubra said, Husn e Jahan’s love for the man stemmed from his love of Allah. Following her husband’s closeness with his Allah Husn E Jahan herself experiences a closeness to Allah which she has never done before. Therefore when she comes back to the entertainment industry in Pakistan and resumes dancing, she’s dancing again, but her soul is dead.
“Husn e Jahan is in the entertainment industry, but nobody knows what’s her core. I’m in the entertainment industry too, but nobody knows my core either. I’m [known as] that person who has an item song. But nobody knows what I do at home or that I pray or have a connection with Allah.”. Adding further she stated how Husn-e-Jahan changed her life. “She changed my life so much that I really became engrossed into it.”
Talking about her spiritual journey she said, “I think I had this spiritual awakening where things like money and materialistic things, and success and fame, and all of that of course, it’s part of the world, but I can’t take it with me. I can’t take this anywhere with me. These awards are not going to hold any value in front of the ‘big guy’ up there. On my death bed, I don’t want to be scared to face my Lord.”
