She discussed the whole incident on camera, about a man she identified as Sanaullah, killed by another man named Haseeb in Boatbasin area of Karachi. The news came out that the incident took place due to self-defense. However, according to Komal Aziz, who happens to live right next to the spot the incident occurred, it was murder in cold blood.
Talking to the media she said,
I had returned home from a shoot when I heard gun shots fire. My mother came into the room and said that a person has died, he died right in front of my house. I went quickly outside and no one had reached for aid yet. I was stunned, staring at the dead body moments after which the police and ambulance arrived. He had died and I shared about the incident on my Instagram.
Questioning about the safety of the city she further added,
I questioned what kind of city we are living in, where anyone can go out and kill someone and get away with it. After I my post, people started saying that he was an armed robber. However, his dead body was inspected in front of my very eyes, and there was only a phone and Rs 1600 [Dh37] found in his possession.
After that an investigation has launched and according to Komal’s Instagram story Haseeb is under custody for questioning. Now the latest is, Komal took to her social media handle and thanked everyone for the support and for raising voice for justice. She also urges all to stand with poor and weak. She wrote, “Thank you everyone for asking about me and supporting me. I am FINE. Nothing has happened to me. I witnessed an aftermath of a murder and I raised my voice for it. I want the victim Sanaullah to get justice. He was not a dacoit and was completely unarmed.
As a human being and a responsible citizen of Pakistan, I felt that I needed to use my influence to get justice for the victim and get the murderer punished. After the protest and social media uproar an FIR has been lodged and the case will now go to court. Let’s all fight for justice. Let’s all stand with the poor and weak. I know I always will. I am not scared of anybody. I am only scared of injustice. #justiceforsanaullah”
