PM Imran Khan Has Directed PTV To Broadcast Turkish Series ‘Ertugrul’ In Urdu

Pakistan Television, PTV is all set to broadcast Turkish world-widely popular series ‘Ertugrul’ in Urdu Dubbing. First aired in 2013, the series has since taken the Muslim world by storm for all the right reasons. PM Imran Khan made a special request to make arrangements for it’s air. Promoting the true Islamic values, the series narrates the tale of main character Ertugrul Bey who was the father of the founder of the Ottoman Empire, Osman I.

Described by fans as a Turkish “Game of Thrones”, The series is based on the Kayi Tribe in which Ertugrul, and his father Sulayman Shah belonged to. As per report in Arab News, Shazia Sikander, PTV director for international relations and the head of this project, expressed that PTV is dubbing “Dirilis: Ertugrul” in Urdu as it has already secured all rights from TRT. Adding further she stated that the series is already on PTV’s dub stage, with voice actors selected carefully to make sure the historical drama will captivate to the audience.

Iftikhar Durrani, Special Assistant to Prime Minister of Pakistan on Media and Head of Central Media Department Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf tweeted, “Glorifying Muslim Heroes and Islamic history, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed PTV to air ‘Ertugrul’”.
