The final episode of Mere Pass Tum Ho has aired on 25th January 2020. But it seems that people are not getting over it’s story and dialogues as well. Whereas the drama has received critical and commercial acclaim. On the other hand, a group of people feel hurt over the offensive dialogues and the plot-line of the drama disappoints them. Even after the conclusion, the drama’s cast, makers are writer is still garnering a lot of hate from people who are of the view that it degrades woman.
Previously, before release of drama’s final episode in cinemas, a petition was filed in Lahore against the screening. However the Lahore Civil Court dismissed the petition later and the finale roped in astonishing numbers at the Box office. Now the latest is, A woman named Sana Saleem has filed another case. In her petition, she alleged that Mere Paas Tum Ho routinely used offensive dialogues about women.
Objection In Petition Against Mere Pass Tum Ho:
Justice Yousuf Ali Sayeed and Justice Muhammad Ali Azhar, Wednesday heard the petition. In her prayer, she demanded a public apology for the offensive dialogues and scenes by the producer, writer and actors of the drama. She objected to the infamous ‘Do Takkay Ki Aurat’ dialogue. Furthermore, she objected featuring a couple living together without a nikaah and a six-year-old trying to set up his father and school teacher. Petitioner’s lawyers, Munir Gulal argued that a line from the show had become quite popular and had hurt the reputation of women.
Sindh High Court summoned Humayun Saeed to appear before the judge and explain why he delivered certain offensive dialogues in the drama. As the dialogues left audiences confused and angry. The court has also instructed the federal government, Pemra and other respondents to submit their replies by February 13.
