Mehwish Hayat Said, “There Is No Self Respect When You Work In Bollywood”

Mehwish Hayat is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actresses in our drama and film industry. Her intense performances and flawless acting chops gained for her critical and commercial acclaim. Having risen to fame with dramas like Dil Lagi, Mere Qatil Mere Dildar and Kabhi Kabhi, The 2012 blockbuster romance serial Meray Qatil Meray Dildar marked a significant turning point in her career. After winning hearts with her acting chops on small screens, she continued to spread her charm on silver screens. She was honoured by the Government of Pakistan with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2019.

In her recent interview she revealed the reason behind not signing any Bollywood project. She stated, “I was already getting so much quality work in Pakistan that I didn’t feel the need. I received so much respect from my own country.” Revealing another reason she said, self-respect holds significance and she believes that Pakistani actors have to compromise on self-respect while working in Bollywood.

The Punjab Nahi Jaungi actress said, “For me, self-respect is very important. When you work in Bollywood, there is no self-respect, you don’t get to attend premieres or even promote the film. Even travelling is life-threatening there. So where there is no self-respect, regardless of more money or more fame, for me, it’s not worth the deal.”

Mehwish Hayat Instagram Post Won Hearts

Few days back the actress also won hearts once again with her Instagram post urging fans to donate to PM’s relief fund. In her social media statement, she appealed fans to donate to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. The Load Wedding star said that doctors and nurses who are on the front line fighting the coronavirus need to have proper protective equipment. Adding further she said, “Pakistan is facing the biggest challenge currently, how we behave now will decide the fate of our generations to come”. She also urged people that they have to stay at home in order to save lives.
