Mehwish Hayat Blasted India For Discrimination Against Muslim Citizens Amid Coronavirus False Claims

Mehwish Hayat is undoubtedly one of the most versatile actresses in our drama and film industry. Her intense performances and flawless acting chops gained for her critical and commercial acclaim. Having risen to fame with dramas like Dil Lagi, Mere Qatil Mere Dildar and Kabhi Kabhi, The 2012 blockbuster romance serial Meray Qatil Meray Dildar marked a significant turning point in her career. After winning hearts with her acting chops on small screens, she continued to spread her charm on silver screens. She was honoured by the Government of Pakistan with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2019.

Apart from her skills to make most projects commercially and critically hit, she has always lent her whole hearted support to social causes when it comes to charitable and social activities. She is also one of the few celebrities who dare to speak their mind. Recently, the actress has blasted India for discrimination against the Muslim citizens amid the coronavirus false claims. Taking to her Twitter, she shared a report by The Guardian titled “Coronavirus conspiracy theories targeting Muslims spread in India”. Alongside the article the Punjab Nahi Jaungi actress stated, “Just came across this article. When the world is uniting to fight against a common enemy, our neighbors are using this pandemic as a way of spewing further hatred & dividing ppl.” Adding further she questioned, “Why do they discriminate when the virus doesn’t? This is Shameful! #Covid_19.”

Mehwish Hayat’s Statement

Few days ago, she appealed fans to donate to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund. The Load Wedding star said that doctors and nurses who are on the front line fighting the coronavirus need to have proper protective equipment. Adding further she said, “Pakistan is facing the biggest challenge currently, how we behave now will decide the fate of our generations to come”. She also urged people that they have to stay at home in order to save lives.
